Golden Eaglets Clear MRI Test Ahead Of WAFU-B

NIGERIA’S U-17 men’s national team, the Golden Eaglets, have completed the mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) screening ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship in Burkina Faso.
A team official confirmed that the players have concluded the medical and age-verification process. Consequently, the technical crew is expected to submit a final list of 26 players for the tournament next week.
Meanwhile, the Eaglets have remained in camp in Abuja for several weeks. During that period, the coaches have continued to assess the players and fine-tune the squad for the regional competition.
The WAFU B U-17 Championship is scheduled to begin in October 2026. Nigeria will compete alongside hosts Burkina Faso, Ghana, Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger Republic and Togo.
With only two qualification tickets available to the region for the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, the Golden Eaglets will need to navigate the group stage and knockout rounds successfully to reach the continental tournament.
