Five Wins, Four Goals: Flamingos Rule WAFU B

NIGERIA’S Flamingos have completed a perfect run at the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup, defeating Togo 4-0 to claim the championship.

From the opening match to the final, the Nigerian side remained unbeaten. More importantly, the Flamingos won all five games on their way to the regional title.

Chidera Harmony proved decisive in the final. She calmly converted a penalty in the 15th minute and struck again from the spot 20 minutes later.

As a result, Nigeria went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

Togo struggled to contain the Flamingos after the restart. Oluebube Umejiaku capitalised in the 67th minute to add Nigeria’s third goal.

Then, in the final minute of regulation time, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi found the net to complete a convincing 4-0 victory.

The result crowned an outstanding campaign for Nigeria. Five victories from five matches also highlighted the team’s consistency throughout the competition.

Beyond the trophy, the campaign gives the young players another platform to gain experience at international level. Consequently, the Flamingos will look to carry the confidence from their WAFU B success into the next stage of their development.
