Delta’s Political Elite Converge As Oborevwori’s Son Weds In Isiokolo

ISIOKOLO came alive on Wednesday as political leaders, business executives, traditional rulers and other dignitaries gathered for the traditional marriage of Innocent Oborevwori, son of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Tobore Arigbodi.
The bride is the daughter of Chief Brodericks Arigbodi, a businessman and Managing Director of Librod Energy Limited.
The families held the ceremony at the Arigbodi family’s country home in Isiokolo, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
They celebrated the union in line with Urhobo customs and traditions.
The event attracted an impressive array of political and traditional leaders.
Delta State Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme attended alongside former Governors James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa.
Senator Ede Dafinone and the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, also joined the celebration.
Hon. Francis Waive, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor and Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Chiedu Ebie, were among other prominent guests.
Business leaders also turned out in large numbers.
Chief Victor Egukawhore, Chief Eta Enahoro, Chief Tunde Smooth, Chief Johnbull Ejovi, Chief Tony Oboroh and Chief John Oguma joined other dignitaries at the event.
Lawmakers, commissioners, council chairmen and senior government officials also attended.
Beyond the high-profile guest list, the marriage ceremony placed Urhobo culture at the centre of the celebration.
Traditional rites, music and dancing gave the occasion a distinctly cultural atmosphere.
Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, welcomed guests as parents of the groom.
Chief Brodericks Arigbodi and his wife also received well-wishers as the bride’s parents.
The families exchanged pleasantries with guests and joined in celebrating the marriage of their children.
Later, Port Harcourt-based musician Duncan Mighty took the stage and entertained the guests with some of his popular songs.
His performance added another dimension to the celebration and kept the atmosphere lively.
The ceremony ultimately brought together leading figures from politics, business and traditional institutions.
It also highlighted the goodwill and relationships shared by the Oborevwori and Arigbodi families across different sectors.
As the celebration drew on, guests offered prayers and goodwill messages for Innocent and Tobore.
They wished the couple a peaceful home, lasting happiness and a fruitful marriage.
