‘Delta Will Remember His Legacy’: Okowa Pays Tribute To Uduaghan
IMMEDIATE past Delta State Governor and former senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has expressed deep sadness over the death of his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, describing the loss as devastating.
In a condolence message to Uduaghan’s wife, Roli, and the entire family, Okowa said Delta State and the Itsekiri Nation had lost a valuable leader and public servant.
He recalled Uduaghan’s years of service as a medical doctor, Commissioner for Health, Secretary to the State Government and, eventually, governor of Delta State. Throughout his career, Okowa said, the late politician demonstrated passion, commitment and foresight.
According to him, Uduaghan’s peace agenda, infrastructure projects and commitment to human capital development would remain significant parts of Delta’s history.
Okowa also noted that the former governor died at a time when Delta State and Nigeria needed experienced leaders amid prevailing social, economic and political challenges.
Meanwhile, he urged Roli Uduaghan, their children and other members of the bereaved family to draw strength from their faith in God as they confront the loss.
On behalf of his family, Okowa extended his condolences to the deceased’s wife and relatives, praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the tragedy.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Uduaghan’s soul, adding that the former governor’s contributions to Delta State would continue to be remembered.
