Boyloaf Foundation Rallies Niger Delta Youths For Peace
By AUGUSTINA McSOLOMON-OGHAKPERUO
THE Boyloaf Foundation, in partnership with the Miss Peace Organisation and supported by the Bayelsa State Government, has called on youths in the Niger Delta to embrace peace, tolerance, and empathy.
The call was made in Yenagoa during an event marking the International Day of Peace themed “Little Hands, Big Dreams.” Children showcased talents in arts, poetry, music, dance, and drama, all centred on peace advocacy.
Founded by ex-militant leader Victor-Ben Ebikabowei (General Boyloaf), the foundation promotes non-violence and youth empowerment. Speakers, including Bayelsa’s Commissioner for Youth Development Alfred Kemepado, praised Boyloaf’s role in the 2009 Amnesty deal and urged youths to shun violence while pursuing their dreams.
Officials also announced plans for a comprehensive youth policy to foster civic responsibility and participation in governance.
Miss Peace Niger Delta founder Ockiya Ayibanengimote stressed the need for parents to raise children with values of respect and tolerance, while others hailed Boyloaf’s peace advocacy as key to sustainable development in the region.
