Wunti Al-Khair Foundation Empowers 1,000 Bauchi Entrepreneurs With Business, Tech Training
THE Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has trained more than 1,000 entrepreneurs in Bauchi State on business management, loan application processes, and registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), in a bid to expand access to finance and strengthen small businesses.
The participants benefited from mentorship sessions covering financial literacy, market positioning, business mindset, and growth strategies. As part of the programme, the Foundation also sponsored free CAC registration for over 100 businesses, enabling them to qualify for loans, grants, and other formal business opportunities.
Speaking on the initiative, the Foundation’s Director of Programmes, Mustapha Ango, said entrepreneurship remains central to its mission of building resilient communities.
“Our interventions are focused on equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools to succeed. By supporting business registration, we are helping entrepreneurs unlock opportunities for funding and partnerships,” Ango explained.
Driving Tech Innovation in Bauchi
Ango also highlighted the progress of the Bala Wunti Technology Fellowship, which has graduated at least 30 youths, many of whom are already advancing in careers within the tech industry.
He described the fellowship as a future-of-work programme, designed to prepare Bauchi youth for the digital economy by equipping them with skills, exposure, and professional networks.
The 2025 cohort recently embarked on an industrial visit to Lagos during GITEX Nigeria 2025, where participants engaged with global technology leaders, explored emerging digital innovations, and built strategic connections.
“A standout moment came when Muhammad, a 2024 fellow, showcased his startup at the exhibition. This milestone reflects how the fellowship is nurturing Bauchi-born innovators for both national and international impact,” Ango said.
Community Development Beyond Politics
Emphasising the Foundation’s non-political stance, Ango reiterated its focus on education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and social welfare. He also cautioned the public against individuals attempting to impersonate the Foundation for personal or political purposes, urging stakeholders to verify information through official channels.
