LG Chairman Unveils Museum, Library To Promote Culture, Learning
MS. Surah Animashaun, Chairman, Epe Local Government Area in Lagos, has unveiled the Epe Museum and Library, a landmark project that reflected heritage, knowledge and visionary leadership.
Animashaun who unveiled the edifice while addressing newsmen, on Wednesday, in Epe, described the project as a legacy initiative designed to preserve cultural identity, promote research and foster intellectual development within the community.
She explained that the edifice was not just a structure, but a living archive of culture, learning and enlightenment.
“It is a place where history would be preserved, stories would be told and people empowered with knowledge, ” she said.
According to her, the facility was built with love, sustained by vision and driven by care for the growth and development of the people of Epe.
The chairman noted that the museum would serve as a reservoir of cultural heritage for future generations, while the library would provide an enabling environment for students, researchers and the general public to enhance their knowledge base.
She added that the initiative was also aimed at boosting tourism and economic opportunities in the division by attracting visitors and researchers from across Nigeria and beyond.
Animashaun expressed appreciation to stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders and residents for their support in making the project a reality.
She pledged that her administration would continue to prioritise education, culture and infrastructure development.
