BEDC Explains Reduction In Electricity Supply Hours
As Company Says Sapele, Ihovbor Substations’ Maintenance Progressing Well
The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has addressed the ongoing reduction in electricity supply hours across its franchise states. In a statement released to The Pointer, BEDC’s Head of Branding and Corporate Communications, Mrs. Evelyn Gbiwen, said the reduction is caused by factors beyond the company’s control, particularly limitations in allocation from the national grid.
The company apologised for the inconvenience, assuring customers that it is working closely with all stakeholders to restore regular supply as quickly as possible.
Maintenance Update on Sapele and Ihovbor Substations
BEDC also provided an update on the Sapele and Ihovbor Transmission Substations, explaining the delay in completing maintenance work. The company attributed the delay to prevailing technical challenges, but confirmed that progress is ongoing and full capacity is expected to be restored soon.
“We sincerely apologise for any disruption to your daily routines and appreciate your patience and understanding during this period,” the statement added.
BEDC continues to encourage customers to stay informed through official updates as the company works to improve electricity supply across Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo states.
