Oborevwori Sets Political Appointees On Grassroots Campaign For MORE Agenda

DELTA State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has mobilised his political appointees for a grassroots campaign to explain the achievements of his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He issued the directive during a strategic seminar organised for Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Executive Assistants in Asaba.
The governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Sir Johnson Erijo, asked the appointees to communicate the M.O.R.E Agenda with accurate statistics and visible evidence.
Rather than rely on general claims, he urged them to point residents to completed projects and measurable government interventions.
Oborevwori said the 2027 elections should provide an opportunity to consolidate the gains of his administration.
He also linked the election to the need to sustain political stability and ongoing development programmes in Delta.
“We promised MORE, and our record speaks for itself,” the governor said.
He highlighted road construction, urban renewal, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and regional security among the areas where his administration has invested resources.
The governor also noted Delta’s alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the partnership continues to create opportunities for the state.
At the seminar, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, the governor’s Senior Political Adviser, challenged the appointees to change how they communicate government policies.
He urged them to avoid merely issuing official announcements.
Instead, he asked them to translate government policies and achievements into language that residents can easily understand and relate to their communities.
Dr Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, and political stakeholder Francis Onuora also stressed the importance of preparation.
They told the appointees to master government figures and key policy details.
Such knowledge, they said, would enable them to respond effectively to misinformation and criticisms from political opponents.
The seminar also featured presentations by Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo; Prof. Akpovughaye Taiga; and Maxwell Idama Omamuyo.
Their presentations focused on creating a coordinated approach to grassroots mobilisation across Delta State.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the seminar placed political communication and grassroots engagement at the centre of the administration’s mobilisation strategy.
