Daily Report Nigeria Unveils Broadcast Studio, Targets 20 Million Monthly Digital Views
DAILY Report Nigeria has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art broadcast studio, marking a significant milestone in its evolution from a digital newspaper into a full-fledged multimedia and broadcast organisation.
Speaking during the grand opening ceremony in Effurun on Thursday, the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Daily Report Nigeria, Tare Magbei, described the facility as the beginning of a new phase in the organisation’s mission to deliver credible, innovative and impactful journalism.
According to Magbei, the newly commissioned studio is more than a physical expansion. It represents the organisation’s determination to embrace emerging technologies while remaining committed to the principles of accuracy, credibility and responsible journalism.
“We are not merely unveiling a studio. We are opening a new chapter in a journey that began six years ago with a simple vision—to create a media platform that would inform, educate, entertain and connect Nigerians through credible journalism and responsible storytelling,” he said.
Magbei recalled that since its establishment in 2020, Daily Report Nigeria has grown from a modest online newspaper into one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing digital media platforms, attracting over 370,000 followers and subscribers across Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Telegram.
He disclosed that the platform currently records between six million and 10 million monthly content views, attributing the impressive growth to public confidence in the organisation’s editorial standards and commitment to factual reporting.
“Every reader, viewer and follower represents a vote of confidence in our commitment to responsible journalism. That trust remains our greatest asset,” he stated.
The media executive noted that rapid advances in artificial intelligence, digital broadcasting, mobile technology and changing audience behaviour have transformed the media landscape, making innovation essential for news organisations seeking to remain relevant.
“The future belongs to media organisations that can combine technology with trust, innovation with responsibility and speed with accuracy,” Magbei said.
He explained that the new broadcast studio would serve as the production hub for live interviews, current affairs programmes, documentaries, podcasts, investigative reports, election coverage, sports programmes and community-focused broadcasts.
According to him, flagship programmes including The Conversation, Daybreak Express, Nigerians Talk, Foregroundand Sportspedia will now be produced with enhanced broadcast quality and expanded audience reach.
Looking ahead, Magbei unveiled an ambitious expansion strategy aimed at increasing Daily Report Nigeria’s digital audience to more than 10 million monthly views by the third quarter of the year and over 20 million monthly viewsbefore the end of the fourth quarter.
He said the organisation also plans to deepen investments in video journalism, data journalism, podcasting, visual storytelling, audience engagement technologies and nationwide reporting networks as part of its long-term vision of becoming one of Africa’s most trusted multimedia news organisations.
Magbei further called for stronger collaboration between the media, government institutions, policymakers, corporate organisations, civil society groups, development partners, traditional institutions and educational establishments to strengthen public discourse and national development.
“Together, we can combat misinformation and disinformation. Together, we can promote informed public discourse. Together, we can strengthen democratic participation and social development,” he said.
The Daily Report Nigeria CEO expressed appreciation to the organisation’s staff, correspondents, contributors, advertisers, partners and loyal audience for their support throughout the past six years.
He described the inauguration of the broadcast studio as the foundation for an even bigger vision.
“Six years ago, Daily Report Nigeria began as a digital newspaper driven by a vision. Today, we open a broadcast studio driven by a mission. Tomorrow, with your support and partnership, we will build a multimedia institution that informs, inspires and impacts millions of lives across Nigeria and beyond,” Magbei concluded.
