Oborevwori Celebrates Former Delta Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, At 70
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated former Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, on his 70th birthday, describing him as one of the state’s most distinguished judicial figures.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor commended Justice Umukoro for a judicial career defined by integrity, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to justice. He noted that the retired jurist’s contributions to the strengthening of Delta State’s judiciary remain significant and enduring.
Governor Oborevwori recalled that Justice Umukoro’s rise through the judicial ranks culminated in his appointment as Chief Judge in 2015, a position he held until his statutory retirement in 2021. During this period, the Governor said, the former Chief Judge championed reforms that advanced the administration of justice, including the attainment of full judicial autonomy in Delta State.
He further described Justice Umukoro—also a Life Bencher—as an accomplished legal icon whose professional footprint continues to shape the state’s judicial landscape.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I join your family, friends, and colleagues in celebrating this significant milestone,” Oborevwori said. “As you mark your 70th birth anniversary, it is my prayer that God grants you continued good health, wisdom, and fulfilment in your ongoing service to society.”
