Eno Warns MDAs On TSA, Announces Prayer Conference Date

Governor Eno Warns MDAs Against TSA Violations
UMO Eno has directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Akwa Ibom State to strictly comply with the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy, warning that violations would no longer be tolerated by his administration.
The governor gave the directive during the May edition of the Government House Monthly Prayer Service held at the Latter House Chapel in Uyo.
According to him, strict enforcement of the TSA framework remains critical to improving financial transparency, strengthening accountability, and boosting internally generated revenue across the state.
State Targets Stronger Financial Independence
Governor Eno disclosed that the state has recorded significant improvements in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), attributing the progress to ongoing fiscal reforms and stronger institutional coordination.
He said the administration’s long-term objective is to generate enough internal revenue to sustain salary payments and reduce dependence on federal allocations.
The governor stressed the need for institutional reforms capable of surviving beyond political administrations, noting that correcting systemic weaknesses remains central to his governance agenda.
Political Activities Must Remain Peaceful
With political activities intensifying ahead of future elections, the governor reassured party members and aspirants that the All Progressives Congress primaries in the state would be transparent and peaceful.
He warned against acts capable of disrupting public order and advised aspirants to remain within their designated wards during the exercise.
According to him, the government would not allow any individual or group to destabilise the peace currently enjoyed across the state.
Youth Centre, Prayer Conference Announced
Governor Eno also announced that the youth-friendly centre located in Oron Local Government Area would be commissioned on 26 May 2026 as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.
He explained that the facility is expected to provide meaningful engagement opportunities for young people and contribute to youth development initiatives in the state.
In addition, he revealed that a three-day prayer conference scheduled to usher in the fourth year of his administration would hold from June 1 to June 3, 2026 at the International Christian Worship Center.
Religious Leaders Call for Prayer and Vigilance
Delivering a sermon at the event, Daniel Ekong urged Christians to remain vocal against injustice, evil, and threats to peace.
Drawing from Isaiah 62:6-7 on the theme “Keep Not Silent,” he described prayer as essential for preserving stability, justice, and progress in society, particularly during politically sensitive periods.
