Asaba Monarch Urges Clean Environment, Warns Against Drug Trade

Monarch Tours Umuezei Communities
HIS Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, has renewed calls for improved sanitation and sustained urban renewal during an inspection tour of the nine villages in Umuezei Quarters, Asaba.
The tour, part of ongoing community engagement efforts, focused on environmental cleanliness, development initiatives, and strengthening communal harmony across the kingdom.
Cleanliness Linked to Health and Heritage
Addressing residents, the monarch emphasised that maintaining a clean environment is essential for public health, peaceful coexistence, and the preservation of Asaba’s cultural identity.
He urged residents to take ownership of their surroundings and actively support initiatives aimed at transforming the state capital.
Warning Against Social Vices
Beginning at Idumu Odikpe Village, the royal father cautioned against the sale and distribution of illicit substances, noting their damaging impact, especially on the youth population.
He stressed the need for collective vigilance to curb social vices threatening the wellbeing of the community.
Infrastructure and Community Renewal
As part of the tour, the monarch directed key community leaders to undertake the renovation of important communal structures, including Ogwa Umu-Nkwor and Ogwa Umu-Onyebuchi.
The move, he noted, is aimed at preserving cultural landmarks while improving the physical environment of the communities.
Commendation for Orderly Communities
At Umu-Iyibu Village, the Asagba commended residents for maintaining a clean environment and acknowledged ongoing urban renewal efforts.
He also praised community leadership for promoting peace and unity, describing it as vital for sustainable development.
