Registration Begins for Student Assistance Programme
THE Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced the commencement of online registration for the 2025/2026 Students Special Assistance Scheme (SSAS) bursary programme.
The scheme is designed to provide financial support to students of Delta State origin studying in approved tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Eligibility Requirements Outlined
According to the board, applicants must be indigenes of Delta State and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
Candidates are required to be full-time students in recognised public or private tertiary institutions. However, postgraduate students—including PGD, Master’s, and PhD candidates—are excluded from the programme.
To qualify, students must:
- Have a minimum CGPA of 2.20
- Be in at least their second year of study
- Meet level-specific criteria (200 level and above for universities, ND II/HND II for polytechnics, and NCE II/III for colleges of education)
Applicants must also maintain an active account with a Central Bank of Nigeria-approved commercial bank.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₦800 using a debit card during registration.
The registration window runs from 11 May to 10 June 2026, after which physical verification of applicants will be conducted.
