Matchday 36 Data Shows Home Dominance in NPFL Season

League Releases Key Matchday 36 Figures
THE Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has released updated statistics after Matchday 36, capturing a season marked by fine margins, tactical discipline, and shifting fortunes across the league.
So far, 359 matches have produced 718 goals, averaging two per game, with one remaining fixture between Ikorodu City and Wikki Tourists still to be completed.
Home Teams Dominate Across the Board
A major trend from the data is the overwhelming advantage enjoyed by home teams this season.
Out of 268 wins recorded, 226 were secured at home, while only 42 came away from home. The season has also seen 91 draws and 226 away defeats, underlining the difficulty of picking up points on the road.
Rangers Set Pace at the Top
Rangers continue to lead the standings with 62 points after 36 matches, combining strong defensive discipline with effective attacking play.
They boast the league’s best defence, conceding only 25 goals, while also scoring 43 times to maintain a +18 goal difference.
Survival Battle Intensifies
At the bottom, Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists remain locked on 40 points, keeping the relegation fight finely balanced heading into the final stages.
With two rounds left and one outstanding fixture still pending, survival hopes remain open but highly competitive.
