RCCG Under Pressure Over Oluremi Tinubu’s Ordination, Says Adeboye

Church Confirms Pressure, Stands Its Ground
THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has confirmed that the church is facing pressure to remove Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, from her pastoral position.
Speaking during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye stated clearly that the church would not yield to such pressure.
“She Followed Due Process” — Adeboye
Adeboye explained that Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor more than a decade ago, long before her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared his presidential ambition.
He stressed that her ordination followed all established procedures and that she has not violated any church doctrine.
Church Maintains Political Neutrality
The RCCG leader reiterated that the church is not politically aligned, noting that its congregation includes members of various political parties including APC, PDP, LP, ADC, and APGA.
He added that while politicians are welcome to worship, the church does not permit its altar to be used for political campaigning.
Broader National Concerns Addressed
Adeboye also touched on national issues, including insecurity in northern Nigeria, stating that the church continues to support displaced persons through humanitarian outreach.
He further remarked that leadership outcomes in national elections are ultimately determined by divine ordination.
