2027: Councillor Chukwuemeke Victor Moves To Federal Stage With Accountability-Focused Campaign

A serving councillor in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, Chukwuemeke Victor, has formally entered the race for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Victor completed the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms on Tuesday, April 29, 2026, sealing his long-signalled ambition to seek higher legislative office.
One of the youngest aspirants in the contest, the Ward 19 (Ezhionum) councillor described his bid as part of a “New Era, New Order” movement focused on transparency, accountability and people-centred governance.
Speaking after finalising the nomination process, Victor said his decision to run was driven by the desire to offer more effective and inclusive representation.
“It commenced with a conviction to represent, a commitment to serve, and a desire to be more impactful in shaping national dialogue,” he said, thanking supporters across the Ndokwa nation for backing his aspiration.
He pledged to prioritise legislation that improves the economy, strengthens national security and expands opportunities for constituents.
Victor, popularly known as “Mr Due Process,” has earned a reputation for challenging entrenched practices in local administration.
His political career began with active involvement in the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) in Abuja, before he joined the APC in 2015.
His profile rose sharply after his election as councillor in 2024. Within weeks in office, he flagged discrepancies in council financial records during a budget presentation—an action that sparked internal pushback but gained public support.
He later petitioned agencies such as the ICPC and EFCC, seeking clarity on the local government’s finances. Observers say his push contributed to new accountability measures, including periodic town hall meetings introduced by the council chairman.
Beyond oversight, Victor has undertaken several community interventions the renovation of the Ezhionum Kingdom town hall, provision of boreholes, governance exposure programmes for over 20 youths, including women, support for education through teaching aides; and directing constituency funds to the community development association for transparent management
Victor is anchoring his campaign on institutional accountability and participatory governance, insisting that representation must translate into measurable results.
His declaration intensifies early political activities in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency as stakeholders begin to assess aspirants ahead of a competitive 2027 race.
With the slogan “A New Era, A New Order Mandate,” Victor is presenting himself as a reform-driven candidate ready to challenge conventional political patterns.
