Ukodhiko Applauds Oborevwori Over Key Road Projects In Isoko Communities

Lawmaker Commends Road Infrastructure Drive
THE member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Jonathan Ukodhiko, has commended Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for approving several road projects aimed at improving infrastructure and connectivity across Isoko communities.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ukodhiko described the approvals by the Delta State Executive Council as a clear indication of the governor’s commitment to balanced development across the state.
According to the lawmaker, the projects will significantly improve mobility within Isoko communities while also boosting economic activity in the region.
Strategic Road Projects Across Isoko
Ukodhiko highlighted a number of road projects approved for construction and reconstruction in different parts of Isoko land.
Among them is the construction of Emese Road in Urude community in Ozoro, a project expected to improve access within the growing town.
The state government also approved the reconstruction of Otor-Igho Township Road, as well as the construction of Godwin Ogorugba, Eduje and Matthew Enarube streets in Otor-Igho.
Another key project is the reconstruction of the Oteri–Igbide–Emede Road, a major route that connects several communities within the Isoko axis.
Ukodhiko noted that these projects would address long-standing transportation challenges faced by residents while enhancing movement of goods and people across the region.
Support for Ongoing Major Projects
The federal lawmaker also praised the state government for continuing to fund other major infrastructure projects already underway.
He specifically mentioned the Emevor–Orogun Road Phase II and the Uzere–Asaba-Ase Road and bridge project, describing them as critical to improving connectivity and accelerating development in the area.
According to him, sustained investment in road infrastructure would help open up rural communities, making it easier for farmers, traders and businesses to access markets and services.
Relief for Students Through Hostel Projects
Ukodhiko also applauded the state government for approving the construction of male and female hostels in nine state-owned tertiary institutions.
He said the initiative would provide much-needed relief to students and parents who currently face high costs and safety concerns associated with off-campus accommodation.
The lawmaker noted that improved student housing would create a more conducive learning environment and enhance academic productivity in the institutions.
Aligning with the MORE Agenda
Ukodhiko said the various infrastructure approvals reflect the development priorities of the Oborevwori administration under the MORE Agenda, which focuses on meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and security.
He expressed optimism that the projects would bring tangible improvements to communities across Isoko land.
Call for Community Support
While welcoming the development, Ukodhiko urged residents of the benefiting communities to cooperate with contractors handling the projects.
According to him, community support will be essential to ensure smooth execution and timely completion of the projects.
He added that once completed, the road projects would improve access to markets and essential services, facilitate economic activities and ultimately enhance the quality of life of residents in Isoko North and Isoko South.
