2026 International Women’s Day: DOPF Seeks Partnerships Ahead of Celebrations In Asaba

THE Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has announced plans for a strategic partnership drive as preparations intensify for the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration in Delta State.
This year’s event will hold on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at No. 12 Uchenna Okolo Street, opposite St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with former NAWOJ chairperson, Patricia Gbemudu, scheduled to deliver the keynote address.
In a statement signed by Josephine Omodior, Secretary of the Committee for the 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration, DOPF said this year’s theme, “Give to Gain: Empowering Women through Digital Storytelling,” aligns with the global message of “Give To Gain – When we give, we gain.”
According to the forum, the campaign encourages generosity, collaboration, and intentional support for women and girls through donations, mentorship, knowledge-sharing, advocacy, visibility, and capacity building.
DOPF explained that the Give To Gain initiative emphasizes the power of giving from the heart and the ripple effect it creates in strengthening families and communities. It added that the 2026 celebration will highlight empowering women, supporting women-focused nonprofits, amplifying the visibility of organisations working for gender equality, and challenging stereotypes and discrimination.
The forum noted that International Women’s Day has become one of the world’s most influential giving platforms, offering opportunities to support organisations dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.
As part of activities for this year’s celebration, DOPF will host a “Give To Gain” Impact Conference, recognise outstanding women and nonprofit organisations, and run media advocacy campaigns across Delta-based digital platforms. The forum will also drive public engagement efforts to encourage broader support for women-focused causes and partnerships with grassroots and girl-child advocacy groups.
DOPF stressed that collaboration with government institutions, community leaders, civil society organisations, and development partners will significantly enhance the success of the campaign.
The statement added that increased public participation will inspire more Deltans to adopt a culture of giving and contribute to the advancement of women and girls.
“When women rise, society rises,” the forum said.
