Oborevwori’s Education Drive Reaches Igbide As Classrooms, Exam Hall Revamped

Infrastructure Renewal at the Grassroots
THE Delta State Government has completed the renovation of six classrooms and an Examination Hall at Owodokpokpo Grammar School, Igbide, in Isoko South Local Government Area, drawing commendation from the Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Chief Emamusi Obiodeh.
Obiodeh, who announced the completion in Asaba, praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as a strategic investment in the future of Delta’s youth. He said the upgraded facilities will significantly enhance the quality of education and provide students with an environment better suited to academic excellence.
Education as a Development Tool
According to the Commissioner, the renovation project forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to strengthening the education sector under the MORE Agenda. He noted that improving infrastructure in public schools remains essential to bridging gaps in access to quality education, particularly in rural communities.
Obiodeh emphasized that modern, well-maintained facilities not only support effective teaching but also motivate students to strive for higher achievement. He added that the state government’s interventions are carefully designed to ensure that no community is left behind in the march toward development.
Community Impact and Collaboration
On behalf of the people of Owodokpokpo-Igbide, Obiodeh expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for approving and delivering the project. He acknowledged the cooperation of community leaders and residents, whose support, he said, facilitated the smooth execution of the renovation.
The Commissioner pointed out that the project is expected to boost morale among teachers and students alike, strengthen public confidence in government responsiveness, and serve as a catalyst for further development initiatives in the area.
Commitment to Shared Prosperity
Reaffirming the administration’s dedication to sustainable growth, Obiodeh assured that Delta State will continue to invest in critical infrastructure and social development programmes across its local government areas.
He maintained that the renovation of Owodokpokpo Grammar School is more than a physical upgrade; it is a symbol of the government’s resolve to empower communities through education and ensure shared prosperity for all Deltans.
