Nwaoboshi’s Bill For Federal University Of Agric And Tech, Aboh Dispatched To Presidency
THE Federal University of Agriculture and Technology (FUATA), Aboh, Establishment Bill, 2021 initiated and Sponsored by Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi, Representing Delta North Senatorial District has just been transmitted to Mr. President for Assent, by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Ojo Olatunji Amos.
It is instructive to recall that about the 18th of November, 2021, Senator Nwaoboshi informed the people of Delta North Senatorial District through his Aide as follows: “I commend and congratulate the House of Representatives under Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila for concurring with the bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology (FUATA,) Aboh, Delta State which I initiated and sponsored as earlier passed by the Senate.
I am directed by the most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (SPON), the senator representing the good people of Delta North Senatorial District and the Senate committee chairman for the Niger Delta region, to commend and congratulate the entire members of the Federal House of Representatives led by our indomitable speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, for the unanimous manner the House committee of the whole, concured with this huge bill initiated and sponsored by Spon as earlier passed by the Senate.
Most importantly, he was of the view that the overwhelming concurrence of the Committee of the Whole under the chairmanship of the Speaker, in adopting this Bill, which he sponsored as earlier passed by the Senate, is a pointer to the fact that it is a ‘genuine, selfless, very instructive and patriotic initiative devoid of any smoke screens as earlier falsely alleged by his political detractors.
Nwaoboshi said he is happy that the “laudable Bill will give our beloved people of Ndokwaland, a huge Oil, Petroleum and Gas producing region, their age long heart desire of having a Federal Higher Institution established in their territory.
“While I commends and congratulates the Federal House for their patriotism in concurring to this Bill which he sponsored at the Senate, he looks forward to the procedural processes that will lead to the assent of this laudable progressive Bill by the President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces. Iam equally grateful to God Almighty for this positive turn of events and welcomed development for his beloved Ndokwa people whose decades old yearnings for the establishment of this University Project will be fulfilled, more so, as they have been completely ‘neglected and marginalised’ by the present Delta state Government’s rather one – sided, look warm attitude towards them developmentally.
“This fact manifests glaringly, in the ‘ongoing bad governance and unpopular nepotistic policy thrust of the state government’,which is facing acute diminishing returns, largely, in good governance and fiscal responsibility parameters, compared to many states in Nigeria’* according to an authoritative recent report.”
The statement was released by Philip Elueme, Legislative Aide to Senator Peter O. Nwaoboshi.
