Monarch Commends Edozien Foundation For Impactful Community Projects

Asagba Hosts Edozien Foundation Delegation
THE Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, has commended the Prof. Emmanuel Chukwuma Edozien Foundation for what he described as its “remarkable and structured philanthropic interventions” across Asaba Kingdom.
The monarch gave the commendation on 10 February 2026, when he received Chief Dr. Mrs. Elfreda Obiageli Uraih (Uzonmili Ahaba) and members of the foundation’s management team at his palace in Asaba.
Expressing appreciation for the foundation’s sustained efforts, the Asagba described the organisation as a “quiet but giant philanthropic institution” that has continued to impact lives meaningfully within the kingdom.
“I feel indeed highly elated and fulfilled that we have a foundation that is so well structured and committed to what I may term a quiet and giant philanthropic organisation,” the monarch stated.

Catalogue of Community Projects
Earlier, Mr. Kingsley Ojeaburu, a Senior Principal Staff member of the foundation, briefed the monarch on the organisation’s origins and activities. He explained that the foundation was established by the children of the late Chief Prof. Emmanuel Chukwuma Edozien (Ojiba Ahaba) to preserve and extend their father’s legacy of service and generosity.
Over the past three years, the foundation has implemented multiple projects aimed at improving living conditions and supporting vulnerable groups within Asaba.
Among the projects highlighted were the drilling of boreholes in the five quarters of Asaba to improve access to potable water, the donation of five bungalows to the City of David Orphanage Home, and the provision of a school bus and chapel to the Mother of Divine Grace Orphanage Home.
The foundation has also supported feeding programmes in both orphanages, distributed school bags, books, and writing materials to students for three consecutive years, and provided food supplies to widows and indigent residents.
In addition, infrastructural improvements were carried out at Asagba Mixed Secondary School, including the installation of a generator and the drilling of a borehole to enhance the learning environment.

Royal Endorsement and Blessings
The Asagba acknowledged the foundation’s interventions in education, healthcare access, water supply, and social welfare, noting that such initiatives align with the kingdom’s broader development aspirations.
He invoked the blessings of his forebears upon the Edozien family and the foundation, recognising their contributions to the socio-economic advancement of Asaba.
The monarch also indicated the palace’s readiness to deepen engagement with the foundation, suggesting that collaborative efforts could further expand the reach and sustainability of ongoing projects.
Commitment to Sustained Legacy
Mr. Ojeaburu sought the monarch’s continued support and blessings for future philanthropic efforts, particularly in strengthening educational institutions within Asaba.
Speaking on behalf of the Edozien family, Chief Dr. Mrs. Elfreda Obiageli Uraih expressed appreciation to the Asagba for his leadership and for commemorating the second memorial celebration of the late Obi Prof. Chike Joseph Edozien (MD, CFR, JP), the 13th Asagba of Asaba.
She acknowledged the monarch’s support for the family’s philanthropic vision and reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to sustaining initiatives that promote education, welfare, and community development.
The visit underscored the enduring bond between traditional leadership and private philanthropy in advancing grassroots development across Asaba Kingdom.
