NIGERIA’S D’Tigers suffered their second straight defeat in the 2027 FIBA World Cup African Qualifiers, losing 69-55 to Guinea on Saturday in Rades, Tunisia.
After an 88-78 opening loss to Tunisia on Friday, hopes for a bounce-back were high, but Guinea dominated from the first quarter, taking a 22-16 lead. The visitors extended their advantage to 35-26 at halftime and 52-41 by the third quarter, leaving D’Tigers struggling to catch up.
Despite late rallies, Nigeria could not bridge the gap, leaving them still without a win in this qualification window. D’Tigers will now face Rwanda on Sunday, seeking to end the series on a positive note.
