THE National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has directed its staff to step up preparations for the 2026 Hajj, with clear emphasis on stronger coordination, improved service delivery, and a complaint-free experience for Nigerian pilgrims, especially in Madina.
At a strategic review meeting in Abuja, NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, urged all departments to work as a united team and adapt quickly to Saudi Arabia’s evolving policies and technological upgrades. He reminded staff of deficiencies recorded in previous operations and stressed the need for professionalism, accountability, and readiness.
Prof. Usman encouraged staff to ask questions, share knowledge, and support each other, noting that Hajj operations change yearly—even for Nigerian officials stationed permanently in Saudi Arabia.
The Commissioner for PRSILS, Prof. Abubakar Yagawal, called for zero complaints from pilgrims in Madina, describing any dissatisfaction there as spiritually significant. He tasked officials to ensure smooth reception at the airport, proper accommodation arrangements, and overall comfort, insisting that a positive start in Madina sets the tone for the entire pilgrimage.
Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Alidu Shutti, reaffirmed management’s commitment to capacity building and urged staff to fully engage in ongoing training sessions, some of which will influence their future promotion evaluations.
With its leadership pushing for higher discipline, better coordination, and improved pilgrim welfare, NAHCON says it is determined to deliver a more seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience in 2026.
