WITH adequate support, some youths are turning challenges to opportunities and transforming ideas to lasting impacts, a council chairman has said.
The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, (Hon.) Princess Surah Animashaun, made the assertion in an interview in Lagos on Thursday.
Animashaun said that many youths were resilient, brilliant and energetic, and would be active agents of change and capable leaders of tomorrow if well supported.
She described youths of Epe as the heartbeat of the community’s progress and custodians of its culture.
She gave assurance of her administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for their aspirations to flourish and talents to be fully harnessed.
According to her, the council has implemented a number of youth-focused initiatives, including skills acquisition programmes and scholarship schemes, to empower the youth.
She also said that the council had given entrepreneurship support to encourage the growth of youth-led businesses.
She added that the council was exploring emerging opportunities in technology to ensure that no youth in Epe would be left behind.
She pledged that the council would continue to provide resources and mentorship as well as seek partnerships to help Epe youths to succeed.
