Vendors Eye Better Sales As Abuja Trade Fair Gains Momentum

EXHIBITORS at the ongoing Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) have voiced concerns over low patronage but remain hopeful of improved turnout before the fair ends on 6 October.
Ghanaian trader Veronica Aboagye urged Nigerians to patronise her products, while Chinese vendor Zhang Wei expressed confidence that sales would pick up in the coming days. Nigerian participant Joseph Asogwa noted that beyond sales, the fair provides opportunities to build business relationships, conduct market research, and attract investors.
President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, urged public support for the fair, announcing the launch of BABA FEST (Buy Africa, Build Africa)—an initiative to promote African goods, talent, and innovation.
This year’s fair, themed “Sustainability, Consumption, Incentives and Taxation,” aims to connect policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and development partners in driving responsible trade and investment across Africa.
