AKWA Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced a major empowerment package for visually impaired gospel singer Chris Vic, who gained national attention after placing third in the De9ja Spirit Talent Hunt.
In a statement on X, the governor said he has directed the Commissioner for Lands to allocate a prime plot in Uyo to the singer, where a four-bedroom house will be built and handed over next week. He also approved ₦100 million for a fully equipped music studio, separate from the cost of the land and building.
Governor Eno further pledged a monthly stipend of ₦1 million to Chris Vic for the duration of his tenure, describing the gesture as a testament to divine grace and a message of inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Chris Vic, who lost his sight at age five after a failed glaucoma surgery, has often spoken about how music became his refuge and purpose. The governor said the support aims to help him grow his talent and inspire others facing similar challenges.
