THE Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) have named Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, the lawmaker representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, as their ambassador, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening grassroots politics in Delta State. The decoration took place during a courtesy visit by the group to Waive’s residence in Obi-Ayagha, where hundreds of new members were also formally received.
USPC Chairman, Olorogun John Ewenede, said the movement was established to unify political forces in Ughelli South and ensure effective representation at all levels of governance. He noted that since its inception in March 2025, the group has expanded in reach and influence, attracting members from across existing political platforms.
Ewenede described the USPC as more than a political group, calling it a movement for unity, relevance and progress. He stressed that the organisation is committed to inclusive participation, transparency and loyalty to party ideals, while pledging continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of future elections.
Other leaders of the group said the USPC has emerged as a major grassroots force within the APC in Ughelli South, focused on mobilisation, political education and community engagement. They emphasised the group’s openness to all APC members who share its vision.
Responding, Waive thanked the group for the honour and pledged to continue advocating for the interests of Ughelli South at the National Assembly. He urged residents to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, warning that low turnout weakens political influence. On behalf of the new members, Mrs. Helen Adjekawen assured the group of their commitment to achieving electoral success for its endorsed candidates.
