Tuggar Urges Full Broadcast Of Piers Morgan Interview On Nigeria

NIGERIA’S Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, has called on British broadcaster Piers Morgan to air his interview on Nigeria’s religious situation in full, without edits or omissions.
Speaking on Wednesday, Tuggar said the interview provides a factual account to counter “misleading narratives” about religious persecution in Nigeria. “For the sake of integrity and transparency, it is essential that the full interview be aired exactly as recorded. Nigeria’s truth must not be distorted,” he wrote on X.
The interview has not yet been aired. Tuggar’s stance echoes the government’s position that there is no genocide against Christians in Nigeria. Officials emphasize that militant attacks affect all communities—Muslims, Christians, and traditional worshippers—and that many conflicts are tied to land, resources, and governance, not religion.
The call comes amid international claims, including by former US President Donald Trump and US media personalities, alleging systematic persecution of Christians—a narrative Nigerian authorities strongly reject.
