Tompolo Mourns Former President Muhammadu Buhari …Hails Buhari’s Patriotism and Legacy In Oil Sector Reform

THE Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) and the Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw Nation, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

In a heartfelt condolence message personally signed and released on Monday, Tompolo described the late President as a principled and patriotic leader who gave his all for the unity and development of the nation during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief from 2015 to 2023.

“Buhari was a man of integrity and simplicity. He was not a materialistic person and was content with what God blessed him with,” Tompolo said.

Highlighting the former president’s commitment to national interest, Tompolo recalled Buhari’s bold decision to engage Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in 2022 to secure Nigeria’s vital oil and gas infrastructure during a period when the nation’s oil production was significantly compromised due to theft and sabotage.

“That singular decision changed the trajectory of Nigeria’s oil sector. Today, we are steadily progressing towards a peak in oil production because he sought out men and institutions of goodwill and capacity to serve the country,” the statement read.

Tompolo further extolled Buhari’s legacy in fostering unity and peace, stating that Nigerians would dearly miss his quiet but resolute dedication to the nation’s progress.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the country, his family, and close associates. May his soul rest in peace,” he concluded.
