Sule Urges Northern Governors To Tackle Insecurity With Rising Revenues
By SANI BATURE
GOVERNOR Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa has told Northern governors to take responsibility for insecurity, stressing that record federal allocations leave no room for excuses.
Speaking at the 2025 Northern Nigeria Investment and Industrialisation Summit in Abuja, Sule said monthly revenue to the three tiers of government has quadrupled under President Bola Tinubu’s reforms, with ₦2.2 trillion shared in September compared to about ₦600 billion in 2019.
He urged leaders to channel funds into security and development, citing Nasarawa’s progress in compelling solid mineral investors to build processing plants, confirmed oil reserves of up to seven million barrels, and plans to expand rice cultivation.
The summit focused on unlocking opportunities in mining, agriculture, and power across the region.
