Shock In Delta As Armed Suspects Abduct Infant

GUNMEN suspected to be operating under the guise of commercial transport have abducted a two-month-old baby along the NNPC Link Road in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. on Monday and has sparked concern among residents over growing insecurity.
The baby, identified as Riches, was reportedly in the arms of her mother, Mrs. Rita Oghale, when the family boarded a tricycle, commonly called a keke, from Shaguolor Junction heading towards Airport Road. According to the mother, two other passengers—a man and a woman—were already seated at the back of the tricycle.
Mrs. Oghale said trouble began shortly after the tricycle reached the NNPC Link Road near the Delta Careers College fence. She explained that just before the traffic light, the male passenger suddenly brought out a gun and demanded her infant. Despite her resistance, the suspect forcefully seized the baby, collected her phone number and pushed her and her other child out of the tricycle before the driver sped off with the suspects.
The incident has since been reported to the police. Mrs. Oghale has appealed to the public to assist security agencies with any information that could lead to the rescue of her abducted child.
