THE House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) has intervened in the escalating dispute between Dangote Petroleum Refinery and oil unions NUPENG and PENGASSAN, following strikes over unionisation and worker sackings.
Committee Chairman Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere described the rift as a threat to downstream sector stability and warned it could scare off investors. He pledged the committee would act in the nation’s best interest, stressing the need to protect Nigeria’s refinery gains.
The committee is also launching a fresh probe into the NNPCL’s acquisition of OVH Energy Marketing assets, examining payments, agreements, and alleged conflicts of interest involving former OVH executives now in NNPC Retail.
