Reps Seek Full Disclosure Of FG’s Financial Support To States

THE House of Representatives has directed the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Ministry of Finance to disclose details of all federal financial interventions to states since 2023, excluding FAAC allocations.
The resolution followed a motion by Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki (PDP–Sokoto), who said multiple support schemes—such as budget aids, infrastructure funds, and relief grants—lack public transparency.
Lawmakers argued that the absence of a consolidated record hinders oversight and accountability. The House mandated its committees on Finance, Inter-Governmental Affairs, and Public Accounts to review the data, engage stakeholders, and report back within four weeks.
