PTDF Prioritizes Human Capital For Nigeria’s Energy Transition

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to developing human capacity and technical skills to support Nigeria’s evolving energy sector.
Executive Secretary Alhaji Ahmed Aminu delivered the message at the 18th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE) in Abuja. The event was themed: “Emerging Geopolitics of Energy: Navigating Global Shifts and Impacts on Developing Economies.”
Aminu emphasized that geopolitical tensions, technological innovations, and climate goals present both challenges and opportunities for developing countries. He stressed that investing in human capital is essential for Nigeria to achieve energy security, affordability, and sustainability.
The PTDF is intensifying efforts in renewables, hydrogen, biofuels, and energy transition research, while collaborating with NAEE and the International Association for Energy Economics to bridge academia, policy, and industry.
The conference convened scholars, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore strategies for sustainable energy governance and innovation.
