Portrait Of A Sham ‘Activist’: “Some Allegations Must Never Be Allowed To Slide”; Of Rogues And Roguery
By AMEDE ISAAC
DEJI Adeyanju, you must admit, has been constituting nuisance in the public space without any shred of decency to his name and profession. Many times I have kept pondering how truly worthy he is of his university degree, vis-a-vis his law credentials that explicitly, if not majestically, declare him “…worthy in learning and character.” How worthy is a village clown in a legal robe?
As an individual who can string a negligible and vapidly vacuous spoken English sentences together, he acts like a one-eyed man in the community of the blind. He is a half-educated village inhabitant strutting the length and breadth of his village hawking his half penny literacy to his unwilling buyers in his accused village. But truly, what does Deji really want?
I have often wondered, asking silently to know, what is Deji’s problem. He claims to be an activist, but truly, l fail to see his activism carried out for the sake of the oppressed. All l see is not different from an empty fellow deluded in megalomania basking in his self-delusion of his self-importance.
For years, Deji has been attacking OBI and his political followers unprovoked. He has particularly been defaming Obi, for what actually if not for the petty ethnic and monetary politics? Peter Obi is not the one in power mismanaging Nigeria like an ignoramus with the steering in hand careering the car and its occupants down the precipice of perdition. Peter Obi is not the drooling, doddering geriatric demarketing Nigeria globally. He is not the one with sordid past of corruption albatross round his stunted neck. But it is Peter Obi Deji Adeyanju has made his sworn enemy – why?
Between Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, the main front runners in the next presidential elections, the former has a more verifiably formidable political credentials. As a matter of fact, Obi’s eight years as governor of Anambra State will leave you nonplussed how focused, upright and forward-looking he was. For years, detractors have fruitlessly tried to unearth any smear to politically have him bespattered with. Where many have failed so abysmally and ridiculously, Deji has continued to tread that path so heedlessly like a bull in blind fury before the red cloth – fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
Some asinine suggestion have been made that Peter Obi will end up becoming a democratic tyrant going after all and sundry over any perceived injurious harm to his name – asinine by every ounce of such unimaginative thought. This is neither here nor there except that it is clear from whom such suggestions are coming from. They are from the likes of Deji and his ethnic political jobbers and fries who are politically here to trade in naira and kobo their political loyalty.
There are some allegations you do not allow to slide though they may be coming from a helplessly puny child blindly throwing punches in the air at his target who is holding him by his head. Deji deserves nothing but humiliation. There is nothing to bite off him; he is that empty and without substance – just humiliate him and leave him gagged by the humiliation he justifiably deserves.
My only concern is that this should not have come from Obi’s legal team. This could have been taken up by individuals in the Obidient Movement or any sundry supporter of Obi. Coming from his camp, l see this as a needless distraction. I hope he is wisely able to distance himself from it when interviewed on this. So speedily, let this political irritant and jobber be dispensed with like detritus deserving nothing less than the scornful spittle he deserves.
