THE Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) have agreed to review the country’s tinted permit policy to ensure it aligns with public interest and national security.
NBA-SPIDEL Chairman, Prof. Paul Ananaba (SAN), announced in Ikeja that enforcement of the policy would be suspended pending recommendations from a joint committee comprising police and NBA-SPIDEL representatives.
He said the review followed public complaints about police harassment of motorists, stressing that the engagement aimed to promote accountability and justice rather than confrontation.
At the same event, Mrs. Adaobi Egboka of the Vance Centre, New York, proposed a partnership with NBA-SPIDEL to strengthen pro bono legal services and enhance access to justice across Africa.
