OVER 2,000 tech enthusiasts, including content creators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, gathered at the Ilorin Innovation Hub in Kwara for the KwaraBuild Tech 2025 Conference. Themed “Next Builders,” the event attracted mostly youths and aimed to foster innovation, mentorship, and collaboration.
Lead organiser Kamaldeen Kehinde said the initiative, which has grown a tech community of over 10,000 members in eight years, seeks to equip young Nigerians with skills to develop innovative solutions and tackle real-world problems. He urged government support to help the tech community address national challenges, including security, using technologies like AI, CCTV, and tracking systems.
Co-Founder Ibraheem Zulkifli highlighted past efforts to create security software solutions, noting adoption lagged due to limited support, while Muhammad Yahaya emphasised the conference’s broader goal of strengthening Nigeria’s tech ecosystem and helping startups scale.
Panelists, including Zumah Yahaya of Ilorin Innovation Hub and Yusuf Jamiu of Anglo Hub, encouraged participants to combine soft skills, data-driven innovation, and global thinking to solve local problems.
Attendees praised the conference for its networking opportunities, mentorship, and industry insights, expressing optimism about applying new knowledge to advance their tech careers and businesses.
