Oliseh Accuses NFF Of Diverting $1 Million World Cup Bonus
By FRED LONGJOHN OBEH
FORMER Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has accused the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of withholding a $1 million FIFA bonus meant for players who qualified Nigeria for the 2002 World Cup.
Speaking on the Home Turf podcast, Oliseh said the team had agreed to split the funds equally between players and the federation but claimed the NFF disbanded the squad to avoid paying.
He alleged that senior players, including himself and Finidi George, were dropped after qualification, and that most of those taken to the World Cup had not played in the qualifiers.
The NFF has yet to respond to the allegations.
