Oborevwori’s Wife Takes Birthday Celebration To Riverine Widows

First Lady Celebrates 56th Birthday in Bomadi
THE First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, on Tuesday celebrated her 56th birthday with more than 500 widows from riverine communities in Bomadi Local Government Area, in a symbolic gesture aimed at spreading hope and compassion.
The event took place at the Bomadi Council Secretariat, with widows arriving from various creek settlements to take part in the special celebration.
Reaching the Downtrodden
Represented by her daughter, Barrister Omonigho Oborevwori, the First Lady explained that her decision to mark her birthday with widows in Bomadi was driven by her passion for supporting vulnerable groups, especially women who have lost their spouses.
She noted that the celebration was not just about marking another year but about sharing love, encouragement and reassurance with those facing hardship.
She expressed appreciation to the women for honouring her invitation and described their turnout as a strong reminder of the importance of empathy and community support.
Assurance of Ongoing Intervention
The First Lady urged the widows to remain strong and optimistic, assuring them that her office and initiatives would continue to address their welfare needs.
“I will always identify with your challenges and continue to support you in any way I can,” she said. “Government remains committed to caring for vulnerable persons, and through my projects, I will keep reaching out to you.”
Praise From Bomadi Leadership
Speaking earlier, the wife of the Bomadi Council Chairman, Mrs. Rejoice Andaye, thanked Deaconess Oborevwori for choosing Bomadi widows as the focal point of her birthday outreach.
She described the First Lady’s action as a demonstration of uncommon love and humility, particularly for riverine women who often face neglect and economic hardship.
Goodwill Messages and Distribution of Items
The celebration also featured goodwill messages from the Bomadi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, alongside his counterparts from Patani and Warri South-West local government areas.
The event concluded with the cutting of the birthday cake, presentation of gifts to the celebrant, and the distribution of relief items to over 500 widows, leaving the beneficiaries visibly elated and appreciative.
