Ughelli Traditional Institution Backs Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Push
Palace Reception After Flyover Groundbreaking
THE Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Wilson Ojakovo, Oharisi III, has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for commencing the construction of the Otovwodo Flyover, describing it as a transformative project for Ughelli Kingdom.
The monarch made the remarks at his palace on Monday while receiving the Governor and his entourage after the flyover’s groundbreaking ceremony.
Flyover to Ease Traffic, Improve Livelihoods
According to the monarch, the flyover will permanently address traffic congestion in the Otovwodo axis and improve the quality of life for residents and commuters.
Speaking through Chief Peter Akpofure, HRM Oharisi III commended the Governor’s foresight in tackling infrastructure deficits and acknowledged the completion of several roads that have already eased movement within Ughelli.
Community Inclusion and Appointments
The traditional ruler also highlighted the appointment of Ughelli indigenes into strategic positions, describing it as a gesture that has strengthened community confidence in the state government.
He pledged the loyalty and cooperation of the Ughelli people to the Oborevwori administration and offered prayers for the Governor’s success.
Governor Emphasises MORE Agenda
Governor Oborevwori thanked the monarch for his support and reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise impactful projects that align with the MORE Agenda.
He noted that the Otovwodo Flyover is expected to boost commerce, improve safety, and reinforce Ughelli’s status as a major urban centre in Delta State.
Political Stakeholders Reaffirm Support
In a separate engagement, the Governor visited the residence of Olorogun Morrison Olori, where political stakeholders praised his performance and pledged support ahead of the 2027 elections.
