Oborevwori To Inaugurate Omadino Model Technical College, Strengthen Skills-Based Education
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will on Monday, February 2, 2026, inaugurate the newly completed Omadino Model Technical College in Warri South Local Government Area, marking another major step in his administration’s push for skills-based and youth-focused education.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, who said the event will hold at the college premises by 10:00am, with guests expected to arrive by 9:30am.
The Omadino Model Technical College is one of the legacy projects inherited by the Oborevwori administration and has now been completed to deliver modern, industry-aligned technical and vocational training.
Equipped with purpose-built workshops, laboratories, modern classrooms and specialised training facilities, the college is designed to produce students with practical, employable and innovation-driven skills.
The institution is expected to become a major hub for training technicians, artisans and young innovators capable of meeting workforce demands in an increasingly dynamic economy.
According to the statement, Governor Oborevwori considers technical and vocational education a key component of his MORE Agenda, especially in providing pathways for youths to acquire marketable skills, reduce unemployment and contribute to Delta’s socio-economic development.
Stakeholders, education experts and community leaders are expected at the ceremony, which represents yet another milestone in the administration’s efforts to strengthen human capital development and expand access to quality, functional education across the state.
