Oborevwori Sets Up Panel To Verify Political Appointees

Strengthening Governance Through Verification
THE Delta State Government has initiated a comprehensive verification exercise targeting all political appointees across the state. The move, approved by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at reinforcing accountability, improving administrative accuracy, and ensuring that only duly appointed individuals remain on official records.
Committee Mandated to Conduct Exercise
A five-member committee chaired by Dr. Odinigwe Odigwe has been tasked with conducting the screening. The panel will verify the physical presence and appointment status of political appointees and prepare a detailed report.
The verification panel is composed of seasoned officials, including:
– Dr. Odinigwe Odigwe, Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Science & Technology (Chairman);
– Chief Onoriode Sunday, State Director of Protocol, Office of the Governor (Member);
– Mr. Oghoro Augustine Ede, Executive Assistant on Public Service Matters, Office of the Governor (Member);
– Mrs. Athora Roseline, Deputy Director/Accounts, Office of the Accountant General (Member)
and Mr. Felix Irevwi, Deputy Director/Administration, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (Secretary).
Why the Exercise Matters
