Oborevwori Hails Delta Speaker Guwor @47, Commends Legislative Stability

Governor Celebrates Legislative Leader at 47
DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, on his 47th birthday, describing him as a focused and purposeful leader whose contributions have strengthened governance in the state.
In a goodwill message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, the governor joined family members, political associates, and constituents from Warri South-West in celebrating the Speaker’s milestone.
Commendation for Legislative Stability
Governor Oborevwori highlighted Guwor’s leadership of the Delta State House of Assembly, noting that his tenure has been marked by stability, cooperation, and effective lawmaking.
According to the governor, the Speaker has played a central role in fostering harmonious relations between the executive and legislative arms of government—an alignment widely viewed as critical to policy implementation and governance efficiency.
He further noted that under Guwor’s leadership, the Assembly has maintained a steady legislative process, facilitating the passage of bills and resolutions aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
Role in Advancing Policy and Governance
The governor also commended Guwor’s contributions beyond the state level, particularly his role as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria.
He said the Speaker’s legislative experience and coordination efforts have helped strengthen democratic institutions, not only in Delta State but across subnational legislatures nationwide.
Observers note that such roles place Guwor at the centre of legislative collaboration, particularly in areas of policy harmonisation and institutional strengthening.
Alignment with Development Agenda
A key highlight of the governor’s message was the synergy between the State Assembly and the executive arm under the administration’s MORE Agenda.
Oborevwori noted that the alignment of legislative priorities with executive policies has accelerated development across sectors, enabling smoother implementation of government programmes.
This collaboration, he suggested, has reduced institutional friction and enhanced governance outcomes.
Prayers and Goodwill
The governor concluded by offering prayers for Guwor’s continued good health, long life, and sustained service to the state.
He expressed confidence that the Speaker would continue to contribute meaningfully to democratic governance and development in Delta State.
