Oborevwori Felicitates Delta Deputy Speaker Akpowowo On 54th Birthday

GOVERNOR of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, on the occasion of his 54th birthday, describing him as a dedicated legislator and grassroots-oriented leader.
The congratulatory message, issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, noted that Akpowowo’s political career has been driven by service, humility, and a deep understanding of the aspirations of his constituents.
Oborevwori said the birthday anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on Akpowowo’s contributions to governance in Delta State, particularly his steady rise through public service and his current role as Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly.
He praised Akpowowo’s strong bond with the people of Ethiope East Local Government Area, stating that the lawmaker has remained accessible and responsive to community needs despite the demands of public office. According to the governor, this connection with the grassroots has earned Akpowowo respect across party lines.
The governor recalled Akpowowo’s tenure as Commissioner for Urban Renewal, during which he played a key role in shaping urban development policies and projects aimed at improving living conditions in several parts of the state. He noted that the experience gained during that period has continued to reflect in Akpowowo’s legislative work.
Oborevwori also commended the Deputy Speaker’s role in strengthening legislative leadership in the Delta State House of Assembly, noting that his cooperation with the Speaker has contributed to institutional stability and effective lawmaking.
