Oborevwori Extols Ex-Vanguard Editor, Mideno Bayagbon At 65

DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated former Vanguard Editor and Publisher of The NewsGuru Online, Mr. Mideno Bayagbon, as he marks his 65th birthday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described Bayagbon as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished journalists, noting that his remarkable career has made a lasting impact on the nation’s media landscape.

Governor Oborevwori praised the Jeddo-Okpe-born media figure for his decades of excellence, editorial depth and steadfast commitment to truth and ethical journalism. He said Bayagbon’s leadership in the newsroom helped shape national discourse and strengthened democratic ideals.

“Mr. Mideno Bayagbon is a shining example of integrity, resilience and excellence in the media profession. His life reflects discipline, hard work, patriotism and a deep passion for the progress of Delta State and Nigeria,” the Governor said.

He further commended the NewsGuru Publisher for remaining influential and relevant even after a distinguished print journalism career, adding that his digital media platform continues to promote responsible journalism, balanced reporting and informed public engagement.

Governor Oborevwori prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Bayagbon, wishing him good health, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service to the country and humanity.

He also encouraged young journalists to emulate Bayagbon’s professionalism, character and dedication to the ethics of the media profession.
