Oborevwori Celebrates Deltans On 2026, Reassures Of Renewed Development Drive
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has celebrated with Deltans on the arrival of the New Year, expressing gratitude to God for sustaining the state through 2025 and guiding it into 2026.
In a New Year message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described 2026 as a year of renewed hope, fresh beginnings and collective responsibility. He encouraged residents to draw strength from past challenges and embrace the future with optimism, unity and resilience.
Oborevwori praised Deltans for their patience, sacrifices and commitment to peace, saying the progress made across the state in 2025 was a direct result of their support and cooperation.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to the MORE Agenda, the governor assured that in 2026, government would intensify efforts in infrastructural renewal, job creation, youth empowerment, improved security, social welfare and inclusive economic growth.
He urged residents to continue to promote harmony, shun violence and uphold values of hard work, tolerance and patriotism, stressing that lasting peace remains essential for sustainable development.
Oborevwori also appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and community stakeholders to strengthen their collaboration with government, noting that building a more prosperous and equitable Delta State is a shared responsibility.
While wishing all Deltans a peaceful and prosperous 2026, the governor expressed confidence in the state’s collective future and reaffirmed his commitment to policies and projects that will enhance livelihoods and promote long-term growth.
