Governor Felicitates Respected Community Leader
GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has extended warm congratulations to elder statesman Joseph Asini as he marks his 88th birth anniversary.
The governor described the milestone birthday as an opportunity to celebrate a life devoted to leadership, service and the development of communities within the state.
The message was conveyed in a statement issued in Asaba by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon.
Recognition of a Lifetime of Service
Governor Oborevwori praised Chief Asini for his enduring contributions to the progress of Okpe Kingdom and his broader role in the development of the state.
Chief Asini, who previously served as Chairman of the Transition Committee of Okpe Local Government Area, has long been recognised for his influence in community leadership and grassroots governance.
The governor said the elder statesman’s wisdom, guidance and dedication have continued to inspire many people within Okpe Kingdom and beyond.
He also acknowledged Asini’s consistent support for the current administration, noting that such encouragement from respected leaders helps strengthen governance and development efforts.

Oborevwori described the celebrant, also known by the traditional title Okakuro Joseph Asini, as a respected father figure whose counsel and leadership have remained invaluable to his community.
According to the governor, leaders such as Asini represent the values of service, integrity and dedication that are essential for building strong institutions and cohesive communities.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate our father and leader, Okakuro Joseph Asini, the Oghweibor of Okpe Kingdom, on the occasion of his 88th birth anniversary,” the governor said in the statement.

The governor noted that reaching the age of 88 is a significant milestone and an opportunity to reflect on decades of impactful service.
