DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has honoured former House of Representatives Minority Leader, Hon. Leo Ogor, describing him as one of Delta’s most influential democratic figures as he clocked 67. The Governor’s goodwill message, issued on Sunday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, celebrated Ogor’s legislative longevity, national relevance, and inspirational leadership.
Governor Oborevwori highlighted Ogor’s 20-year representation of the Isoko Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2023, saying the uninterrupted tenure reflected sustained public trust and a career anchored on constituency development and national legislative impact. He also noted Ogor’s leadership rise in the Green Chamber, where he served as Deputy Majority Leader in the 7th Assembly before becoming the voice of the opposition as Minority Leader in the 8th Assembly.
The Governor praised Ogor’s debating strength, policy articulation, and stabilising influence in Nigeria’s legislative politics, adding that his tenure strengthened opposition participation and democratic accountability. He described him as an Isoko and Delta ambassador whose discipline has inspired young political minds across the state.
The Governor prayed for Ogor’s continued wellbeing, asking God to grant him long life, good health, and renewed strength for service to humanity.
