Oborevwori Celebrates Elder Statesman Chief Godwin Ogbetuo At 96
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated respected elder statesman and community leader, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo, on his 96th birthday, describing him as an enduring symbol of integrity, patriotism and service to the state and nation.
In a goodwill message issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori hailed Chief Ogbetuo’s lifetime of principled leadership, noting that his contributions to governance, public service and community development have left a lasting impact on Delta State.
The Governor praised the nonagenarian’s commitment to good governance, accountability, peacebuilding and responsible civic leadership, adding that Chief Ogbetuo’s selfless service continues to inspire younger generations across the state.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate our revered father and leader, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo, as he marks his 96th birthday,” Oborevwori said.
“You have distinguished yourself as a patriot and elder statesman whose steadfast dedication to humanity and public service has contributed immensely to the growth, stability and progress of Delta State and Nigeria.”
Governor Oborevwori also praised Chief Ogbetuo’s leadership as former Chairman of the Delta Elders and Leaders Forum, describing his tenure as one marked by courage, deep insight and unwavering commitment to the collective good.
“We remain profoundly grateful for your invaluable role in shaping the political evolution and development of our dear state,” he added.
The Governor prayed for God to grant the elder statesman continued good health, strength, divine protection and more years of wisdom, noting that Delta State and the country need more leaders who embody Chief Ogbetuo’s virtues of courage, discipline and genuine statesmanship.
